What is 1:1 Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapy is a personalised therapeutic approach that uses the principles & practices of yoga to address specific conditions.
Recognising that our physical and mental health are not separate things, yoga therapy applies various mind body techniques including movement, breath work, somatic practices, meditation, self enquiry and reflection techniques in an integrated way to improve and enhance a person’s whole health. It is a truly unique & holistic form of therapy combining ancient yogic wisdom with modern science.
How is yoga therapy different to a yoga class?
In western culture, yoga has become synonymous with physical postures or asana, yet it offers so much more. Yoga therapy draws from the full yoga toolkit including postures (asanas), breathing practices (pranayama), sound, visualisation, meditation, relaxation techniques, yoga philosophy, even lifestyle recommendations, to create a holistic practice that is tailored & designed specifically for you.
What conditions is yoga therapy useful for?
Yoga therapy is increasingly being recognised as a valuable complementary practice within health care services across the UK where it is being used to help with a broad range of conditions.
